I received an e-mail the other day from Dale Knight of Verizon's "West Area Executive Relations," which sounds like a PR arm of the cell phone company.
When I googled "West Area Executive Relations," that's what came up--complaints against the company. See: Verizon West Area Executive Relations
Now, I am assuming that Dale Knight wrote to me in response to a letter from Senator Patty Murray's office. See: Harassing Phone Calls From Verizon Wireless: Act II
The letter was unintentionally humorous, because Dale wrote:
At this time we would like to take the opportunity to speak with you by telephone in order that we may address your concerns, however we do not have a valid phone number in which to reach you.
(Ignore the weird grammar: "in which"?) No phone number? Well, my Verizon cell phone is no longer in service, that's for sure, but when I signed up with Verizon I provided my home number, which the company certainly has. So that's not exactly true, but let it go.
I'll be giving Dale a call tomorrow. I'd like to know what--if anything--happened to the employee or employees who called me dozens of times over two days. And I'd like to know what the company plans to do to make this right.
Here's the e-mail in its entirety:
Dear Ms. Sather,
This correspondence is in response to your recent contacts with Verizon Wireless regarding concerns of multiple phone calls from Verizon Wireless. At this time we would like to take the opportunity to speak with you by telephone in order that we may address your concerns, however we do not have a valid phone number in which to reach you. As a result, Verizon Wireless would at this time like to respectfully request that you contact us directly by telephone at the below listed toll free number, or feel free to respond to this email and provide a telephone number were we can reach you during regular business hours..
Our West Area Executive Office can be reached at 1-(866) 673-9561, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm, Pacific Standard Time. We will await your call and we look forward to speaking with you soon.
Sincerely,
Dale Knight
