I sent out an e-mail last week to the usual suspects and one or two cancer bloggers who are new to me, asking them, "What's Your Happy Ending?"
The author of the Beyond Breast Cancer blog sent me the link to her post. She's done with treatment, but still facing breast reconstruction, but right now she is caring for her husband and son who have the swine flu (or H1N1). And, in the way that so many of us do after tangling with cancer, she is really enjoying being able to do this.
I get that.

I especially identify with Amy's happy ending. Amy didn't have cancer, but her husband did, and she wanted her daughter, now 7, to have memories of a father who wasn't sick. He is in remission, and so far, so good.
Yesterday evening, I was home, sick in bed with the faithful Connie by my side, and my sons--both of them preparing for Halloween parties--kept popping into my room to talk and to show off their costumes. We were in such harmony with each other, and it was a very sweet moment.
Older Son even offered to go to the store to get juice and coffee for me, and he made me breakfast in bed. Amazing.
