I am *so glad* you women agree with me about Komen. I was worried when I wrote that post that the actual cancer patients would be offended, but apparently I'm just now getting wise to the hostility you guys harbor for Komen.
I've never had cancer but everytime I see the pink ribbons, I want to stab someone in the neck with a fork. It is condescending to wear a ribbon, host a race, or otherwise pink up the whole damn world and think you're doing something good for the women who are actually enduring cancer. Hate Komen. Want that organization to go away and leave me alone.

Hi Jeanne!
I posted some pictures of the offensive pink cakes and cookies on my website. Thought you'd be interested. : )

I realize you might not agree with the whole pink nature of breast cancer but not all pink stuff is related to Komen. And, do you have any idea what kind of strides Komen has made in the past 26 years? It is one thing to comment on some of the items that you might think are over the top but at the end of the day those companies turning their products pink are donation funds to breast health organizations and if it weren't for those organizations being around we wouldn't have the treatment and survival rates we have today. Get your facts straight before you post stuff that is negative about an organization that has made great strides in the war on breast cancer.

When I saw a pink Habitrail for hamsters with proceeds going to Komen in a pet store a year or two ago, I nearly fell over! It just seems to be getting worse.
Many years ago, I worked for an advertising agency that did work for, among other clients, Komen, Yoplait, and Aventis. It left me with an extremely bad feeling, and I left before I had completed six months there.
It's great that people are speaking out and not buying in to this greedy and thoughtless trend.

Robin--obviously, we disagree about Komen.
But no one can argue that Komen took $50,000 from Jingle Jugs. I think that says it all.
Don't know what I'm talking about? Here's the link, with a photo, thanks to Debutaunt.
