Advice Needed: Who's on Tykerb + Xeloda?
I know at least a couple of readers of this blog are on that combination, but I can't remember who ...
Dee, a blogger and breast cancer patient who lives in Oregon, is going to start on this combo soon, and she'd like to hear from women who are taking these drugs together, which I believe is the most common combination for Tykerb.
So leave a comment for Dee below, or go to her blog and leave her a message.
I have another friend who is taking xeloda alone, and has been for two years now. She is doing really well on it.
And I'm taking Tykerb, but not xeloda, and I'm doing well on the Tykerb. Side effects have calmed down after two months on the drug.

Hi Jeanne,
Thank you for asking your readers for me! I appreciate it as I'm one of those people who like to know what to expect. Not knowing, and the anxiety and suspense (as I'm sure you understand) are tough for me. And, thank you to any readers who might respond, too!

Anyone has experienced severe side effects with Xeloda?
Has anyone experience severe side effects with metastatic breast cancer patients initiating treatment with XELODA after one or two days of treatments? My mother initiated treatment two days ago and has loss consciousness, experienced very high blood pressure, difficulty breathing, seizures/convulsions and has behaved as stroke patient. We brought her to the emergency room where they anticipated she had a major stroke. After a brain MRI and other tests the doctors have dismissed that possibility. They have completed many tests without finding any reason why someone in relative good health (except for the cancer) would suddenly deteriorate into this situation. She is currently breading with the help of a respirator as she has been sedated. The doctors have been able to stabilize her situation and have her blood pressure in normal levels.
However no cause for the symptoms has been found.
As I mentioned, the patient started XELODA two days before the symptoms.
